At Mi Casa: Sandra (our secretary) and her husband with the musicians behind them. And us. The WHOLE restaurant was filled with these fancy skeletons, all sizes. Sandra was telling us they celebrate the dead, and on the evening of the holiday, make a plate for each person in their family that has passed on, and leave them out overnight for the dead to come eat.
This beach was our favorite part of the trip. We snorkeled (the water was only about 60 degrees) in wet suits and even though it was a bit cloudy, and some of our snorkels leaked, it was so fun. Right after Greg and I got out to meet everybody else on the beach, a huge school of sardines flew up out of the water close to the beach. Some pelicans swooped down to eat, and then a couple seals followed! They didn't get too close, but they hung out for awhile and got some lunch. We ran around the beach and some rocks where the fish would get stuck and throw them in to the water for the pelicans.
Bob REALLY wanted a group picture with a big, crazy cactus.
Headed to the resort after our snorkeling. Gabe thought it was awesome when we told him on the phone we drove a Hummer!
At the pool one day, a waiter passed out mini popsicles, mango or canteloupe. I chose canteloupe. It was GOOOD.
Below is a famous rock, which they call the dragon (drinking the water). On the right side of the rock, is Lover's Beach, in the Sea of Cortes side. The other side is called 'Divorce Beach', (Ha ha!) on the Pacific Ocean. Only the locals go to these beaches, since you have to walk quite a ways from town.
Greg watching for the gray whales... We chased them for a long time. It was incredible.
The kids while we were gone....Grandma Lynda and Ashley came up for the week. It was nice to know they were well taken care of. Especially since we got stuck in Cabo an extra day because of plane maintenance! We walked in the door at home, and Sofia was NOT happy to see me. I think I made her mad. BIG hugs from Gabe and Ava though! Sofia even screamed and cried when Grandma left. :( IT took her about a day to give me a kiss without me begging.
It was really nice to get away, but SO good to be home.
